Will the pool be open?
Pool facility remains closed until further notice.
How long will my membership be on hold?
Membership holds will be released upon reopening. Please contact staff for exemptions to this policy.
Is there a booking system in use?
At this time, pre-booking your appointment is not required. The online booking system may be re-instated if required.
Are hotel guests permitted to use the gym/pool?
At this time, gym and pool facilities are only open to AAC members.
I’m a resident of Fort Garry place, why can’t I access the gym via the pool door?
In order to properly monitor our capacity, access to the gym and pool facilities is only available via the front door. Members wishing to use the pool can see a staff member to sign out a key at our front desk.
Are members required to exit through the back door?
Members may now enter & exit through the main door. Please refrain from congregating around the front desk/lobby area longer than necessary & try to come as prepared as possible for your workout.
Do you still offer complimentary lockers during my workout?
Lockers are available for rent for $6/month. Members should supply their own locks if you wish to secure your belongings during your workout.
Why are the steam room, whirlpool, & wading pools not open?
In compliance with the provincial health department, these two areas are currently closed.
Am I required to wear a mask?
At this time, masks are required to be worn within the facility. Please bring your own as they are not supplied nor available for purchase.
How is equipment being spaced for social distancing?
Equipment has been distanced appropriately where possible. In cases where equipment cannot be moved, every 2nd machine is not currently in service (taped off).
Is there a capacity for the gym/pool areas?
The capacity for the gym & pool areas is limited to 25 people, with 10 people in the lap pool at any one time.
Are you still offering towel service?
At this time, we are asking members to bring their own towels.
Am I permitted to use the showers in the locker rooms?
In an effort to reduce touch points, members should limit their use of the locker room showers. For any use of the showers and locker rooms, there are new wipe stations available. Users are asked to sanitize touch points such as shower doors prior & after use.
Do you supply hand sanitizer?
Yes, there is hand sanitizer available upon entry at the front desk & throughout the gym.
What is the protocol for cleaning/sanitizing?
Gym members are required to wipe the vinyl & handles of equipment prior to & after use using the supplied towels and hospital grade sanitizer. Towels should be disposed of in the baskets provided for sanitizing. We have increased our cleaning protocols and complete the steaming of high touchpoints several times a day.
As of February 16, we will be re-opening per provincial health orders at a reduced capacity. Please note the pool remains closed.
